Coalport & Wedgewood Replacement China
Coalport is one of Britain's oldest and most celebrated
fine bone china makers, established on the banks of the
River Severn in Shropshire in the late 18th century. Renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, delicate gilding and richly decorated patterns, Coalport pieces are among the most collectable British china ever produced. In 1967 Coalport was acquired by the Wedgwood Group,
and many beloved Coalport patterns continued under the Wedgwood name. You will often find the same pattern carrying a Coalport backstamp on earlier pieces and a
Wedgwood backstamp on later ones — both are genuine, both are beautiful, and both are fully compatible as replacement pieces within the same set.
